Futures Waitaki is where golf clubs and facilities in the Waitaki area are combining resources to provide affordable learn and play opportunities for all young people aged 5-18 in Waitaki.

Join as a member of Futures Waitaki to receive access to play at participating golf clubs and facilities, subsidized coaching programmes, and subsidized events held across the Waitaki area that are suitable for all ages and abilities.

A Futures Waitaki Junior Membership gives you:

• Playing rights at Ardleigh, Kurow, Otematata, Omarama, Tokarahi, Waikouaiti, North Otago, Lower Waitaki, and Waitoa Park.
• Access to regular subsidized events for young people and families held at partnership clubs
• An official Golf New Zealand membership number and handicap (if not already a member of a golf club)

Futures Wakitaki events are included as part of the Futures Waitaki membership. If you sign up to the membership, you will get access to them at a subsidized cost.

You will know which events are included in your membership by checking our online calendar and email updates. All Futures Waitaki events will also have the Futures Waitaki logo!

Yes! We encourage it. Futures Waitaki aims to compliment your club membership by providing you with opportunities to play in regular events and at a variety of different golf courses and facilities.

What is the "Home club membership"?

The "home club membership" is a membership for those golfers who want to be eligible to play and compete for a club in their club competitions (pennants, club championships etc). They still have everything that the normal membership has, but they will nominate a "Home club" when they sign up, and this will be the club that the can compete for.

Both! Futures Waitaki aims to provide playing experiences that meet the different needs and abilities of a wide range of young people with regular 6-hole, 9-hole and 18-hole options, as well as other golfing activities, you can choose the event that suits your ability and confidence. Whether you are new to golf or have been playing for a while, there is something for you.

Futures Waitaki Members must be under 19 years of age on 1 January. Members are entitled to play golf at the following 9 courses Ardleigh, Kurow, Lower Waitaki, North Otago, Omarama, Otematata, Tokarahi, Waitoa Park, and Waikouaiti, and have full use of facilities at those Clubs without payment of green fees, subject to course availability and provided that the member books a tee time in advance. Members are entitled to all reciprocal playing rights as negotiated with other Clubs by the 9 partner clubs and are eligible to enter Club competitions including Championship events. Futures Waitaki members will have a golf handicap maintained by Golf New Zealand.

Of course, Non members will have to pay a slightly higher entry fee but are still eligible to play in Futures Waitaki events.

Yes, we will do our best to ensure that there is loan equipment for you to use, you just need to let us know prior to the event.

Wear what makes you feel comfortable! If you have some favourite sports wear or golf wear you would like to wear, go for it! Suitable footwear is also a good idea as the longer grass can sometimes be a little damp.
